On-line Services

Vehicle Registration Transactions

• Renew a Vehicle Registration
  For: passenger vehicles, small commercial vehicles, light-duty trailers, motorcycles, and ATVs.
• Replace a Registration Document
  Replace a registration certificate or a window sticker that is lost or damaged.
• E-ZVisit
  Complete an application on-line and save time when you apply for a vehicle registration at a DMV office. EZ-Visit can only be used for registration of a vehicle purchased in a private sale.

Driver License Transactions

• Renew a Driver License or Non-Driver ID
  You cannot change your address during this transaction.  You must have a completed form MV-619 (Eye Test Report) to renew a driver license on-line.  An Eye Test Report is not required to renew a non-driver ID.  Read the requirements before you begin this transaction.
• Replace a Driver License or a Learner Permit
  Replace a driver license or learner permit that is lost or damaged.
• Driver License Mailing Status
  Check the mailing status of a driver license, a learner permit, or a photo ID card that you renewed or replaced.
• Pay Suspension Termination Fees
  Pay the required termination fees for definite driver license suspensions.
• Pay Driver Responsibility Assessment
  Pay the required driver responsibility assessment.

DMV Records Transactions

• Order an Abstract of Your Driver Record
  Request a copy of your Abstract of Driving Record (Note: the abstract is delivered by mail, and is not available on-line).
• Order and Access Motor Vehicle Accident Reports
  Search for, purchase, view, save and print PDF copies of motor vehicle accident reports filed with the DMV.

Road Test Transactions

• Schedule a Road Test
  You must have your learner permit, and your pre-licensing course certificate available.  Read the instructions before you begin.
• Pay Your Road Test Fees
  You must provide your Client ID, your date of birth, and the type of road test that you will pay for (passenger, motorcycle, or CDL).

Custom and Personalized Plates

• Custom Plate Galleries
  Browse the galleries of picture plates.  Select from sports teams, professions, veterans, and other categories.  You can order picture plates on-line when you browse the gallery.
• Picture Plates
  You can search for your personalized plate number and order on-line.  Select from sports teams, professions, veterans, and more.  For passenger vehicles or commercial vehicles.
• Personalized Plates
  You can search for your personalized plate number and order Empire State Plates on-line.  For passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles.
• Vehicle Plates Mailing Status
  Check the mailing status of your vehicle plates.

Title Transactions

• Replace a Title Certificate
  Replace a lost title certificate.  You cannot change your address during this transaction.  You must have your registration certificate available.
• Title Certificate or Lien Status
  Check the status of a title certificate that was issued by New York State, or a lien recorded on a title certificate.

Traffic Violations Bureau Traffic Ticket Transactions

• TVB Traffic Ticket Pleas, Hearings and Payments
  Enter pleas, schedule hearings and make payments for moving violation traffic tickets that display the words "Traffic Violations Bureau."
• TVB Substitute Traffic Ticket
  Print a TVB substitute traffic ticket to replace a lost ticket when a copy of the ticket is required for a TVB plea or hearing.
• TVB Traffic Ticket Appeal
  File an appeal of a conviction and/or penalty that resulted from a traffic ticket answerable to the DMV Traffic Violations Bureau. Cannot be used to appeal determinations in local courts.
• TVB Ticket Management for Attorneys (application form)
  Associate client TVB traffic tickets with your free, secure, on-line account, and schedule or re-schedule not guilty hearings on-line. Complete the application form to apply for your account. For attorneys admitted to the Bar in NYS only.

DMV-Regulated Business Transactions

• Find DMV-Regulated Businesses
  Locate inspection stations, repair shops, auto dealers and other DMV-regulated businesses by ZIP code, county or the Facility Number.
• Renew Facility Business Certificates
  Renew DMV-issued business certificates for automobile dealers, inspection stations, repair shops and other auto-related facilities.
• Order Inspection Stickers
  Dealers, inspection stations, and repair shops can order inspection stickers on-line.

Insurance Transactions

• Provide Proof of Insurance
  Respond to an insurance inquiry, a suspension order, or a revocation order.
• Insurance Lapse Civil Penalty Payment
  If you received an Order of Suspension (FS-70T) for a lapse in automobile liability insurance, you can pay the civil penalty on-line and remove the suspension.
• Insurance Status Check
  If you received a notice from DMV about a lapse in liability insurance, you can check the status of your insurance, driver license and vehicle registration related to the lapse.

Social Security Number (SSN) Verification

• Social Security Number (SSN) Verification
  If you did not receive a letter from the NYSDMV that instructs you to verify your SSN, you cannot verify your SSN on-line.  Read the instructions before you begin.

• DMV-Related Business Licenses
  The Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform (GORR) provides this service at their web site.  You must contact GORR if you require assistance.
• Commercial carriers can use OSCAR to save time and get credentials on-line for IRP, HUT, IFTA, and SSRS.
